Pokémon ex originally debuted almost 20 years ago in EX Ruby & Sapphire and were a mainstay in the Pokémon TCG until EX Power Keepers in 2007. Now they’re back in Scarlet & Violet, and while they may look a bit different, they maintain the essence of the original mechanic—powerful two-Prize Pokémon that can also evolve from one-Prize Pokémon. Pokémon ex look similar to the more recent Pokémon-EX from the Black & White Series and the XY Series, but Pokémon-EX were almost always Basic Pokémon, while Pokémon ex can appear at any stage of Evolution!

Pokémon ex are not only powerful, they grant flexibility. Since Pokémon ex can evolve from Pokémon that only give up one Prize card, they provide an extra layer to deck building and how you approach your game-winning strategy!
